Our works sets out to draw bridges between the concept of obedential potency originated in medieval philosophy and Charles Taylor’s reflection on Dostoyevsky’s work. From both perspectives, it is suggested that a continuity exists among the different orders of reality. The initiative of the will of creation is pointed out along with its link with man´s perceptual meekness. The openness to the energies of the senses, the virtue of valor and the openness to grace surface as the key to the fecundity of life seen as harmony. From that perspective, good is identified with unity whereas evil is identified with dissension.
