Abstract

A new and deeper vision about the human psyquis and its dynamics was developed in the last century. Affection reached the central role that was pledged to reason before. In some authors reason was doomed to play a secondary and subsidiary role. This paper presents a new interpretation of the relationship between affection and reason in the light of phenomenology and hermeneutics, on one side, and cognitive psychology, on the other. It shows the deep bond that both elements share, as well as the circularity in which they relate. These new insights even transform our interpretations of affection and reason.
