La Constitución Dogmática Dei Verbum y los métodos de interpretación de las Escrituras

Abstract

The article assesses the concision and clarity of the entirety of point 12 of Dei Verbum Constitution in which the Council Fathers gathered, in a brief synthesis, the teachings of the Magisterium and opened a path for the church to develop, with increasing certitude, a better understanding of the word of God. A field previously filled with diffi culties and conflicting issues is made clearer. Contributions subsequent to the Council, such as the document prepared by the 1993 Pontifical Biblical Commission, evidence the potentiality that lies in these few lines and the possibilities that open up for the word of God to “spread and shine”.
