Ό θεός: σπερματικός λόγος του κόσμου
Apuntes para una lectura de la noción de los λόγοι σπερματικοί en los estoicos y en san Agustín
Keywords:
Stoicism, Plotinus, Augustine, seminal reasons, creation, analogical seminality, consumatio, incohatioAbstract
This article attempts to trace the notion of λόγοι σπερματικοί –which is the key of the Stoic Physical explanation of generation– and its adoption by the neo-Platonic current, through which, it seems, arrives to Augustine of Hippo’s work. This concept plays an important role in his exegesis of the creation accounts that appear in Scripture. Seminal rationality is analogical. It covers and gives meaning to the constitution of the cosmos. In fact, it is itself, in its highest expression, the Λόγος who was in the beginning, the foundation of reality.
