Testimonios y fuentes del primer filósofo proto-ortodoxo: Justino Mártir
Keywords:
Apologist Fathers, St. Justin of Rome, Christian philosophy, Eusebius of CaesareaAbstract
The last published works on the biography and work of Justin Martyr – Mártir –Flavia Neapolis, Samaria, ca. 100- 165– (M. Marcovich [1994, 1997], J. Pépin [2000], D. Rokéah [2002], Ph. Bobichon [2003], Ch. Munier [1995/2006]) – show flaws on the approach and comparative study of sources and evidence about the Apologist. Such works demand higher attention to the general framing of the author and a comparative analysis of sources and evidence in relation to byzantine news (Photio´s Bibliotheca, 125), Acts of the Martyrs, Eusebius of Caesarea and Jewish writings (Talmud Bavli) so as to make the most of Justin´s work that remain today (Apologies and Dialogue) or those works whose titles are kept even though the originals have been lost (Treatise Against all Heresies, Treatise against Marcion). The influence of the last writings on latter works, however, is quite important in order to achieve an understanding of the personality and significance of St. Justin of Rome as the first Orthodox representative of Christian philosophy.
