About the Journal
The journal Cuaderno de Ciencias Humanas, published electronically by the Faculty of Humanities of the Universidad del Norte Santo Tomás de Aquino (UNSTA), aims to disseminate academic publications that contribute to enriching research and debates on the Humanities in the field of higher education. This mission aims to ensure that the intellectual efforts of teachers, researchers and professionals contribute indispensable elements to dignify the human and transform their environment. The journal is published in Spanish and may be published in other languages as long as it is the original language of at least one of the authors of the articles, following the guidelines of the Helsinki Initiative.
Open access policy
Cuaderno de Ciencias Humanas provides free access to its content under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) license.
With the aforementioned license you are free to:
1) Share: copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.
2) Adapt: mix, transform and build from the material.
As long as you do so under the following terms:
1) Attribution: you must give proper credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes have been made. You may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in such a way as to suggest that you or your use has the licensor's support for changes made after publication.
2) Non-Commercial: You may not use the material for commercial purposes.
There are no additional restrictions. You may not apply legal terms or technological measures that legally restrict others from making any use permitted by the license. The licensor cannot revoke these freedoms as long as you follow the terms of the license.
The scientific production published in Cuaderno de Ciencias Humanas will be available to all, allowing any user who is interested in reading, downloading, copying, distributing, printing, searching or accessing full texts of the articles using them for any purpose within the legal frameworks without financial, legal or technical hindrances for their access. Likewise, our institution promotes and supports the Open Access movement to the academic scientific literature. Its editions have no charges for the author (Article Processing Charges) or for the reader, encouraging authors to deposit their contributions in other institutional and thematic repositories, with the certainty that culture and knowledge is a good of all and for all.
Ethics and plagiarism
Principles of ethics and plagiarism detection policy
The journal's policy is to publish original works, written by those who declare their authorship, and unpublished, they cannot have been previously published in any printed or electronic media. The journal is committed to present and promote knowledge with ethical rigor, transparency and good editorial practices. For this reason, Cuaderno de Ciencias Humanas adheres to the Code of Conduct established by the Committee on Publication Ethics, specifically written for editors of scientific journals (COPE: Committee on Publication Ethics).
Authors' Responsibilities
- To conduct original research in a responsible and ethical manner and to present their results completely and transparently so that the scientific community can corroborate and/or replicate the data.
- Not to send the manuscript simultaneously to other journals for evaluation.
- Assume responsibility for the published research.
- Strictly follow editorial guidelines.
- Cite properly if ideas and/or words of other authors have been used. Plagiarism in all its forms constitutes unethical editorial conduct and is unacceptable.
Plagiarism detection
Cuaderno de Ciencias Humanas is committed to the respect and integrity of published articles. Therefore, texts that are identified as plagiarism, self-plagiarism, or whose content is fraudulent will be immediately discarded from the evaluation process. The editors of the journal will consider guidelines and guidelines that have been agreed upon at the international level to solve the specific problems of scientific editorial practice. The instructions provided by COPE: Committee on Publication Ethics will be taken into account. Likewise, guidelines from other internationally recognized organizations such as ICMJE: International Committee of Medical Journal Editors will be considered. We invite authors, researchers and reviewers to become familiar with the international guidelines related to publication ethics.
Digital preservation
The journal, in order to ensure the preservation of its content in open access over time, performs the following procedures:
- Periodic backups of software (Open Journal System) and of its content on UNSTA servers.
- Articles are deposited in pdf and html format, both widely used formats.
Privacy Statement
Names and e-mail addresses entered in this journal will be used exclusively for the purposes stated in this journal and will not be provided to third parties or for use for other purposes.
