Abstract

In contrast to the manifestations of barbarity and destruction latent in every human being until today, medieval Rhineland mysticism represents the commitment to life, which is characterized by personal maturity and spiritual evolution. Intellectuals and, moreover, true masters in the art of self-knowledge and the authentic exercise of freedom, Eckhart, Tauler, and Suso are zealous guardians of the richest Catholic Tradition. Their texts, a legacy for the present world, an invitation to reflect on the trials of time and the fire of truth.
