Abstract

The article raises the conceptual vacuity in which key premises for social and political organization fall. In this case, it focuses on studying the ideas of:  democracy, representation and law; as necessary pillars of political analysis and proposals for systemic change. A context of deep relativity where the meaning of words is distorted and accommodated according to the needs of the moment, a factor that shows a great risk for democratic stability and the achievement of consensus. Populism appears as a political construction tool that imprints relativity and deepens antagonism as a power strategy; At the same time, it modifies the meaning of what we understand as liberal democracy (Western model), representation and law, necessary for the structural modification of society in an integral way and at various levels. This research will use Ernesto Laclau’s theory as a basis to clarify the risk that these political constructions imply, but that follow a specific logic.
