The aim of this paper is to discuss the phenomenology of melancholy developed by Romano Guardini to the poetry of Olga Orozco. In his latest poems death is presented as the threshold that leads to the encounter with the Other that the flame and to whom tends his voice and spirit. Because inhabits the borders of
existence his word is place of manifestation of the absolute. Given the inexorable fi nality of death, his poetry became destitute in praise, becoming the ultimate limit a cry of melancholy presence of the divine.
