This article proposes to address the trajectory
of Alberto Ezcurra Uriburu (1937-
1993) during his years of priesthood at the
Paraná Seminary. This facet has scarcely
been explored by historiography and by
historical sociology, more oriented to studying
his tacuarista stage than his time as a
seminarian. This gaze supposes to reconstruct
the institutional ties and the personal
networks that embody sociability. The
trajectory of this cleric, in addition to accounting
for his tensions, productions and
appropriations, is a lens that will allow us
to explore in an exploratory way the conformation
of a particular type of sociability,
which we could characterize as Catholic
traditionalist. It was articulated and deployed
in the Seminary of Paraná during the
archdiocese of Adolfo Tortolo (1963-1983).
This period was characterized by important
transformations for Catholicism, as a consequence
of the Second Vatican Council
(1962-1965), but also by the emergence of
radicalization processes and political violence
that affected members of the Church.
