Anti-liberal and parliamentarians. The Christian Democrats of Buenos Aires and politics in Argentina in the 1930s

The Catholic nationalists and the fundamentalist sectors of the Church considered that the parliament was the past. Part of liberalism that had to be overcome. On the contrary, among the Christian Democrats the positions were more diverse. In general, they were moderately optimistic about the possibilities of reforming it. In this article we analyze how these sectors –especially the Popular Party of Buenos Aires– conceived the parliament and its possible articulations with Catholic corporatism during the 1930s.
